To tell if she's part setter, check her undercoat. If it's really thick, she's all golden. If she's has a thinner undercoat, that's the setter coat. It's dominant. I've seen both working-type goldens and Irish setter/golden crosses, and I've been told that's the only way you can tell.
Yep, we believe she is most likely from working/field lines due to her slim build, red color and not overly profuse coat (she sheds burrs nicely!) However we don't know 100% for sure because Ginger was a rescued dog...

My guess is she's from working bloodlines, because she has such a good temperament and she's RED! And she's lightly built with a straight coat and a rather "brainy" look to her eyes.
Ginger is a nice doggie... I love her patience with the baby... Animals know when they have to be patience... |
